Craig's List Garage Sales
News of the Crate & Barrel Sale quickens my pulse, as it is one of the very first (albeit early) signs of "Retail Fall", my very favorite "season".
Don't waste your time at the ABC Home and Carpet sale, its a total ripoff.
Why? Details, please.
Well, first off I walk into the store and start looking at the rugs that are on the 1st floor.Within seconds I'm approached by a blond haired guy with a hat who by the way smelled of booze and asked me if I needed any help.I told him yeah, that I was interested in the khyber rugs where he then immediately got a salesperson a very obnoxious little lady who once realizing thatI 'm in the entertainement business spoke to me about her endeavors for about ten minutes which I didn't mind, only because it was amusing. To make a long story short, I was prepared to pay (by the way noticing that they both looked wasted at six in the evening)whats bizarre is that they asked me if I wanted a discount, I said sure, who wouldn't.The Rug was priced at 6500 where they offered at least 10 percent off. Next thing you know the blondy realizes he can't ring it up because its not from his floor and tells me I'm sorry I'll have to get a saleperson from the sixth floor, He comes down and tells me he can not give me a discount because its on sale that I should be happy because its one of a kind and would cost me 7800 in total. These people totally wasted my time(45 minutes)and I left with nothing because I was so put off and I to make matters worst I think the guy that originally helped me was a manager. This place is losing it big when it comes to customer service. I ended up in Hafez and actually got what I wanted with no hassle and at a price I agreed with.
So that says their customer service on a daily basis sucks, but maybe it's worth putting up with for even deeper discounts. It doesn't mean the sale/store is a rip-off.. just that it's a hassle.
But to each his/her own.
I've had both extremes of service at ABC in the Rug side, generally better luck on the furniture side.
