Sighted just ten minutes ago: a perfectly good, solid and otherwise out of style set of end tables just waiting for someone like you to give them a better home. Paint them gloss black and they are Edgy Hip. Paint them gloss white and they are Artist Loft Hip. Strip them down and wax them and they are Au Natural.

Darn, I wish I had the kind of job where I could run down there and pick them up. I have been scavaging around at thrift shops and flea markets for side tables I could dress up. The ones I wanted from Pottery Barn were $300 some. I think that's crazy.
I finally gave up yesterday and decided to buy new. I Froogled around and found two solid wood side tables on ShopNBC.com. Strange site to shop on right? But the set of stacking tables was only $50 -- including shipping! Product number V26510. Went back to the site today to look at them and they are sold out.
I think it's harder to find small tables than large table in NYC. We can all make room for and make use of small tables.
I saw a really nice small side table upstairs at the Opera Thrift Shop (across from SVA on 23rd) the other day. I think it was $45 and in great shape. Check it out.
