at4856bfe397bb87.98177248.jpg (Hello! We've noticed that some Scavenger posts receive more traffic than others, so we would like to take a little survey: what do you want to see in the Scavenger? The more we know what you like, the more we can help you find it! Please leave us your thoughts in the comments section below. Thanks!)

Now, on to today's find: if you're in the market for some 70's throwback furniture, then you can't get much better than this excellent Vintage 70s Retro White Vinyl/Pleather Long Couch w/ Pullout (whew! That's a mouthful!). There are some kitty claw marks on it, but it could be reupholstered to get it looking completely fabulous again.

I'm not a huge fan of the scavenger posts, as I'm not in one of the scavenger cities (Minneapolis). It's sort of like having several inaccessible carrots dangled in front of my face every day. Perhaps including some ebay finds (that can be shipped) would appeal to a wider audience?

I love the scavenger posts, however if I see something I like its usually gone by the time its posted on AT. However I'm looking for a sofa right now and saw the white vinyl one which I would grab in a minute except its far too long for my apt!

I would love a post on how the scavangers search craigslist to find such great stuff! I'm in Philadelphia so I can't actually buy this stuff either. It would be super cool to learn how to find awesome stuff on craigslist myself in my city! thanks

I love seeing what's available in different cities - it's easy and painless for my wallet!

I like the scavenger posts, but also find that they are gone by the time I see them on AT. I like it when you find things that aren't easily found by searching "room and board" or "dwr" on craigslist. I can do that myself. But, finding some obscure gem with a really bad listing is what I love scavenger for - that's what a scavenger is, no?

I think Scavenger should mix it up a little. I feel like its too much MCM and Danish stuff. But I think the types of items featured: sofas, chairs, bookcase, lighting is a pretty good range.

People could always go looking on their own and post under the Scavenger posts.

Here's a consignment place in Vancouver that I posted for someone else on this site:
http://showroom.fullhouseconsign.com/FeedPhotoList.aspx?gallery=34407

Yes, they have the Hans Olsen table and tri-legged chairs, but their chairs match the wood of the table and no chair is cracked. It's more expensive, but it's a better set.

This is sold, but it is the cutest kitchen table chairs set:

One of the kinds of places I can see kids doing their homework or eating lunch in there and not using the big dining table. They just don't do kitchen tables with drawers like that anymore.

Folks could post whatever they find, either in the Scavenger that is closest to them, or to the store, or just POST it in ONE of the Scavenger areas!!! Then other folks can race around to all the various Scavenger links to see who posted what where.

I call a lot of what is on that site treasure. It's all fixed up, much has new upholstery or it's upholstery is in excellent condition.

I like looking for things. I get frustrated when I can't find things that people want. You know, like the Good Questions stuff.

Weekends are virtually deserted on this site too, and I don't have anyone to talk to in daily life. So it would give me something to do. What is it that people are looking for? Or are they just looking?

Philadelphia:

Beautiful full length decorative mirror in wide brown/black frame with shabby-chic metallic edge. 72”high by 28”wide. Can be used leaning or mounted to the wall (hardware included).

West Elm Parson's Desk, light green, $125.00:

======

Pier 1 wicker love seat and two chairs, $125.00:
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/fur/727044888.html

I don't see the exact style on Pier 1 now, but browse over there to get an idea of what it costs new:
http://www.pier1.com/catalog/browse/0306.papasan-wicker-rattan

If you have the space, and don't have any patio or deck furniture, that could be ideal. and you can pick up other pillows if you don't like the ones shown, the new stuff at Pier 1 doesn't come with pillows, those are separate.

And while you're at Pier 1, be sure to browse the Clearance area.

Cute, cute, cute clearance metal end tables:

and Pedestal tables:

======

Want a project? How about a round wood dining table, with two drawers, with two drop down wings to make it more rectangular...I like the legs on this and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it's on wheels, $30.00:
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/fur/727041863.html

Those are the kinds of bargains that are great for small apartments. It's cheap, it's certainly functional, even without being refinished. Having drawers in the table means you can have just a little more storage.

Sand, paint, stain, varnish, all that stuff, you can browse for ideas. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color of the table of this photo from an art gallery (scroll down to "MICHAEL BEVILACQUA
Broken Swing Sets $7, 2005
Mixed media on wood table):
http://www.geringgallery.com/2005/still/still.html

And you can start browsing sites like this one for ideas (some are very country decor, but you can also see what a good paint job will do):

There's a lot of high end stuff on this AT website. And very collectible items. But sometimes you just need a table. Or SOMETHING to put on the patio other than resin chairs.

Or maybe something a little more unusual that everyone else doesn't have:

======

4' x 4' green chalkboard, the real deal here, $55.00:
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/fur/727052968.html

Not just for kids being that substantial, it could even go in the garage, if you have one, for the "honey do" lists.

======

Acrylic block partition, 65" x 81", $50.00:
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/fur/726704405.html

So you're saying "What the heck would I do with that?"

Well, you can do the STOLMEN posts and figure out how to mount that between two posts, for a room divider.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/range/10364/11959/

Why yes, it would make a totally cool headboard for a generic platform bed:

Got an open patio, but need a bit of a wind break without sacrificing light? There ya go, that thing could do that for you.
