they may vary in price because they are not all saarinen. there were many imitators of this table even when it first came out, so be certain to check for the way the base is made if it is important to you that you own an original.

If it's real, that's a fair price. I've been looking for one and people kill me asking 1400 for tulip tables that are in bad condition.

Like zoo said there are many knock offs out there but if you want the real thing-

A new Saarinen coffee table in this size would cost either approx. $2,277.00 for Calacatta Coated marble (MC) or approx. $4,360.00 for Calacatta Natural marble (NC)

You can look at the List Price on Knoll Studio website and take about 30-35% off the list price to figure out what it will sell for.
There are many top finish option laminate being the least expensive.

Also, the real ones in this size are 35 3/4" dia, 14 1/4"h

If it's real it's not reasonable, it's obscenely cheap.

"Fair price" is really ambiguous - especially on Craiglist. If someone is willing to pay that price, it is fair to them, no? I have sold many items recently on CL because I moved, most of it vintage or higher-end furniture items. I can't tell you how many people emailed me with low-ball offers, while I also got many legitimate responses from people who knew what the pieces were worth and thought my asking prices to be fair. For the most part, I don't respond to the low-ballers, my sense is that they respond to tons of listings hoping to find someone that's desperate and they in turn will get something for dirt cheap. I don't mind if someone respectfully asks if you're open to negotiation, but if they email you to offer $40.00 for a piece you've listed for $150.00, then the response is "WTF?" I still love CL though, the ease and quickness of selling stuff beats a garage sale any day of the week!
