After lots of sleep and a little bit of Tylenol Cold and Flu, the Scavenger is back at it today -- not necessarily operating at 100% strength, but back nonetheless. Thankfully, Mary has made my job easy today by posting a well-lovedleather and rosewood sofa in our classifieds. We love vintage like this that's actually used and shows wear -- it's like your mom's funky older sister who you know has lots of stories to tell but only allows a wry smile. -MM

OTHER GOOD STUFF - this stuff is what I would see selling for close-to-nothing at a local weekend auction or yard/rummage sale. The prices are totally out landish! What's the deal? It's like the Belk of ebay.com... A porthole lamp table for $300??? The legs came from a cheep table that someone broke and the porthole was found on ebay for $20 (the proof is in the pudding)...

Do people really buy this stuff? Really people check out your local flea market or yard sales, this kind of stuff goes for just pennies there...
it looks like there's a typo on the price of the desk chair for $600.
Armoir that needs refinishing (and probably checking for insect damage), $250 plus 2 guys x 5 floors down + delivery in a truck...comes to at least $400.
Sadly, I'll pass.
Please note, that I don't mean to offend anyone. I'm just saying that the prices look a bit steep compared to what I'm use too.
sorry,
The avid bargain hunter
I kind of like that porthole table, although it would probably be more fun to take the legs off and install it into one's home.
But I think that Shaker Chandelier looks like it has more real potential with either those half-chrome-top round bulbs or with some custom-made tiny little chandlier lamp shades on the bulbs.
