Scavenger: Beautiful old oak flat file for best offer

flatfile.jpgWe saw this on craigslist (of course) and just couldn't pass up the opportunity to feature such a cool piece. Edward's beautiful old oak flat file is not only listed with dimensions, but suggestions for use (platform bed, anyone?). Best offer takes it. -MM

funny. i was able to get a large metal flat file a few months ago and it's been serving as the base of half our bed. in our new place (cum October), we plan on building a proper bed frame for it to sit in. wish ours was wood though.

Thanks for the good stuff.
I have always found it difficult to find an apartment in my area I like.

Thankfully Google can help us.

How to find a rental in your hood?

GAH! Why does cragslist NY always have fab furniture for sale? In London it's all crappy crap crap, I'm so jealous.

oh, don't worry Claire. 99% of it is crap crap crap.

i saw this yesterday and considered it, but i couldn't come up with any reason i would ever need a flat-file. they're not very efficient storage for non-flat stuff, and thus really only useful for artists who work in 2D (and the like). would be nice for a platform bed, but again, if i'm going to have a platform bed with storage, i'd like it to be useful storage. mighty purty, though.

Warren...
I may have what you are looking for. Right now it is buried in what was going to be my office so right now I don't have a pic to email. I can dig it out tomorrow and take various shots. I used it to store boat plans (line drawings) for my half hull carvings when I did art shows. It came out of an old hardware store auction in sad shape. I stripped it and put a finish on it but it has seen some use since then (dings and scrapes). It is oak and I am guessing from memory 10ish drawers and a stand. Interested in making a "reasonable offer"? Email me and I will send out info.
