Scavenger: BRAND NEW FUTON/SOFA/COUCH- ALL IN ONE - $175

Today we are highlighting a guest scavenger, who shall be known only as MM. She tracked us down at the party last Friday and told us that she not only loves Scavenger on the site, she can't stop scavenging ALL DAY LONG. We figured we were talking to a pro, so we tossed her some HTML and let 'er rip. We think she blows doors and can't wait to get her into eBay. MGR

5_19_scav.jpgThe reason I picked the futon/sofa/couch thingy - BRAND NEW FUTON/SOFA/COUCH- ALL IN ONE - $175 - was because it's actually a unique looking futon and is attractive in the right scenario. And what did the Small cool contest teach us but that we have to be versatile with our furnishings?

As far as I can tell, the "white armchair" is the Klappsta from Ikea, which you can buy for $99 from Ikea; see www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=12&productId=18903&langId=-1&parentCats=10114*10292

a -- Good call. If you look carefully, it even has that rounded bar in the back, instead of two feet...

So, um, to me it doesn't seem like either item is being misrepresented, necessarily...
The UO bed is cheaper used than the site cost plus delivery.
And yes, you can buy the IKEA chair new for $99 (plus tax)... after you head out to IKEA, try to fit it in your car, assemble it...

What's the biggie?

actually i was just pointing it out. not trying to call misrepresentation. in fact i kind of like the futon thing and was thinking about ordering it. it was nice for me to see it in a real world situation and not just in product shots. and i would have to pay shipping anyway because i am not in nyc.

I also am not claiming any misrepresentation on the Ikea chair, but I just don't think it is such a good deal. I'm sometimes amazed how cheaply some people sell things for on Craig's List, but the Ikea chair is full retail, although it's true that you don't have to hassle with shipping, assembly, etc.

Also, is that a real Heywood-Wakefield desk? I'm no expert on H-W, but this doesn't look like one to me.

The futon is definitely NOT a good deal as it's selling on Urban Outfitters for NEW at $129.99!!!

Alice--
But how much is the shipping?
(not to mention I am suddenly turned WAY off by Urban Outfitters, given another thread about their political/anti-Gay affiliations...)

i posted that info earlier... shipping from urban outfitters on that item is $100
