Funny how much Eames furniture goes on sale. Wonder why that is?

it's about supply and demand. mid century modern has been HOT for nearly a decade now, but going full force when DWR was introduced to the masses. DWR, the GAP of modern furnishings has helped educate the people but has not given them an APPRECIATION for such furnishings. alas.

eames is the most recognized of all mid century modern designers and brands. it was at one time, about form AND function. and ironically, INEXPENSIVE (for the times). they made a lot of stuff in mass quantities (we used their chairs and desks in elementary school) so there's going to be more of their stuff for sale, generally speaking.
