Welcome to Molly from Kentucky, who by her own admission has "a lot of patience for trawling eBay." She suggested sending in some recent finds and we were blown away. Here's the tip of the iceberg.
Mod O-shaped lamp in white lucite and chrome on a rectangular base. Sculptural piece offers a striking interplay of light and shadow. Reserve. $56 with 4.5 days left
Mid-century dresser combines Danish and Chinese Modern styles at a great price. Shallow upper drawers concealed behind cabinet doors accommodate ties, socks, or scarves. Pick up 25 miles west of NYC. No reserve. Buy-it-now price: $229.
Pair of crisp Forties arm chairs in mushroom velvet with black trim and buttons are the interior-design equivalent of spectator pumps. This seller, mad4milo, is one to watch: he has a genius for finding pieces with great lines and professionally refurbishing them with fine textiles and dark stain. Seller usually sets quite a high reserve.
Although it’s unclear why South Carolina-based Pawn Express should be selling cotton Angela Adams rugs through its Ebay store, the company has fifteen rugs in many patterns, including Jimi, Munjoy, and Lula. The Jimi rug is item no. 4398961816. The rug retails for $75; the Ebay store’s buy-it-now price is $59.95.

Scavenger is one of my favorite things about this site, and I love these Ebay finds. Thanks Molly!
Many thanks, Molly, for sharing these intriguing finds!
And thank you, Molly, for using the correct word, "trawling."
Whoah, Molly, you have a DANGEROUSLY nice eye. Excellent!
A favor?
Keep your eyes peeled for a Pottery Barn "Braden" jute rug in the discontinued Cranberry (any of the larger sizes). I have an eBay search going for one, but so far no luck.
Thank you, everyone; I'm delighted. As I writer/editor, I make it my business to find the right word, so yes, I "trawl." Sometimes "slog" would be more apt, but finding the diamonds in the mud makes it all worthwhile.
Patrick: Of course I'll keep an eye out for your rug. Your apartment seems perfect to me as is, however.

Thanks, Molly (for the eye, for "just the right word," the kind word, and for trawlin' on my behalf!!)
(the cranberry Braden rug is for a home for which I'm doing an interior consult...)
