Does Wenge refer to the style, stain color, or wood veneer? I've seen this term everywhere and still don't know exactly what it means. Thanks.

Wenge means "white wraith of death" among the Congolese. The term was originally used to describe Belgian colonialists, but through uncertain morphology came to apply to the dark wood that the former were forced to harvest.
