I don't know why you don't cover some of the finds on 1st Dibs, which can be even cheaper than Craigslist finds.
For instance, last Saturday, on the low end, they were offering four recently reupholstered (and nicely done) original Saarinen chairs for $450.00. Four for $450! A similar set of Saarinen chairs, albeit with original upholstery and wooden legs, was going for $450 EACH on the Lost City Arts website.
On the high end, 1st Dibs was offering a 60 piece set of Gio Ponti designed sterling silver tableware for $4,500. The Puiforcat stainless steel Maxwell liked so much is selling retail for more than that. $4,500 for a 60 piece sterling silver set is a great deal, and the fact that the silverware was absolutely beautiful and designed by Gio Ponti were fantastic pluses.
AT should assign someone to cover that beat. It's not hard work, and it's mind-blowing when the originals of some pieces sell for less than authorized copies.
