A long time ago (the 1960's) in a land far, far, away (like Scarsdale), this Vintage 60's Lucite String Lamp probably adorned the entry hall of a split level ranch. How it got from there to Carroll Gardens, we have no idea. But that's where it is in case you want to have a look. Maybe we're fresh-faced and naive, but we've never seen a fixture like this, and frankly, it makes us ooh and ahh. -MM

My parents had one of those string lamps, they bought it at Sears.
I have one of those string lamps....I bought it at a Salvation Army in Florida for $4...
Well, looks like I am fresh-faced and naive...guess if you want this lamp, you should print out these comments and use them for bargaining leverage!
$50 seems like a fair price. About a year and a half ago, one of the resale shops on Melrose (in L.A.) had a bunch of unopened old stock of these lamps. $45 was what they were charging at the time.
well...
this lamp is in the window of a Park Slope second hand store for $150.
pay extra for dust and immediate gratification!
I think the novelty would wear off quickly
but then, I remember making a string art shark out of copper wire when I was a kid!
maybe my mom still has it . . . anybody interested?
; )
you see these on ebay ALL the time...i used to want one but had no where to put it anyway. They used to go for $15-$20 but i'm sure the price has gone up...you can usually find them in clear, smoked lucite, and sometimes bright orange!
I wish I still had the one my parents had, in the striking smoked version.
I used to pretend to play the harp/guitar on it. It was a magnet for dust.
