It's called a boot bench, but this rural-looking bench could work pretty well in the city, too. With storage built into the base of the bench, this catch-all seat could be a perfect perch in the entry.

Made by Buck Creek Furnishings, the boot bench is 36" long and only 8 3/4" wide. At that size, it could fit into even the smallest of apartment entryways.
And it's priced at only $70, which is really reasonable for a handmade, solid wood piece of furniture. Comes in several "aged" painted finishes.
The base is too narrow, so unless it is sitting against a wall, it will tend to tip over easily.
But if you do set it against a wall, the bench will be too narrow to sit on comfortably, by the look of it.
It wouldn't be hard to build one that functions better. For that rustic finish, you can use milk paint (google it). It is absolutely brainlessly easy to use. Go over corners and such with fine sandpaper to create that worn look.
