Pebble Stool by Allermuir

02-15-pebble.jpg

Such a friendly piece of furniture. The soft shape and cheery colors of the Pebble Stool, designed by Georgina Moss Kyte for Allermuir, make us warm up to this design. Always fans of multitasking furniture pieces, we'd love to use this one as extra seating and as an ottoman/soft side table.

They're marketed by Allermuir as furniture for corporate or public spaces, but we can see having one at home. There are two designs: one with little indentations in the sides for grouping pebbles together, and one that's completely round.

I've always been a sucker for multi-color polka dots--m&m's, Necco wafers, Tiddleywinks, Fiestaware, Gene Meyer ties, the Hang-It-All coatrack, Marshmallow Sofas--so if I had a big white loft, there's no way I could pass this baby up.Magnaverde.

I need one of these.
Are they available in the U.S.?

The Google offices in Chelsea have these suckers all over, coordinated to the primary color-coded reception areas. They're cute, but surprisingly low. I'm 5'2 and found them more suitable for footrests.

Reminds me of a "Reading Rainbow" (any Canadians out there remember that retro TV show...?!)

A plethora of plush colours... comfy-wumfy!
