We love this look from Domino Magazine. We like the pairing of rustic furniture with a more modern aesthetic. Keep in mind that when you mix styles, match shape or color. Here are some of our favorite country chairs, from highest to lowest price. Let us know, if we've missed one of your favorites.

I love a classic Windsor chair and Maine Cottage has such a fantastic choice of colors!

I find them all quite expensive. Aren"t authentic rustic or Thinet chairs cheaper? Or is it just in the US that chairs like this are rare?

sorry, read "Thonet" chairs.

Thonet Chairs are neither "Rustic" nor "Country"
They're the original Parisian/Viennese Cafe Chair.

@ bepsf, I agree, but according to the introductory photo... they're considered country style here

Hm, I don't know. Those chairs in the first photo...bringing a bit of the Cracker Barrel into the modern home.

I have seen modern and rustic combined to great effect. In fact, Living Etc magazine had a feature about combining these two styles.
However, I don't know about the first photo - to me, it screams, "See how eclectic I can be!" There's just something forced about the design in the first photo.

I agree with bepsf......not really sure where the "rustic" furniture is in the original photograph (except maybe for the rocker in the background).

read rustic=wood apparently. Thonet chairs are more like vintage modern, and personally I like them with a much more rustic farm table.
