Marston & Langinger's Oak Dining Chairs

2004_11_1_marston.JPGheavy weight. A few months ago we blogged the opening of Marston and Langinger's new store in Soho - they build glass houses among other things - and last week we went inside to poke around. Discoveries? While they aren't fully stocked yet, they offer some unique items.

weekend colors (28).jpgOur top pick is their dining chair thanks to its simple lines and modern-yet-rustic solid oak build. It sells for $400, while their recycled teak chairs come in second in our view -- they go for $230-$530.

Ask for their catalogue. It has good pics of their entire line.

On a cheaper note, we picked up two of their shiny silvery cups ($23) for our bathroom. They are heavy with sumptuous curves and crisp lines and perfect as a gift, if you don't want one yourself. More pics below. MGR

I absolutely love their oak dining set. I also think their mirrored candle sconces are terrific. Granted, nothing there is cheap, but everything is of such high quality that one can understand the cost. I also love their willow furniture. It is hand-made so it is way more durable than that ugly discount wicker and it doesn't take a trained eye to see the difference! Everything there is so simple and chic - it's a place worth visiting!
