Norman Foster's 20-06 Chair for Emeco: It's Upholstered

AT covered the Emeco 20-06 Chair by Sir Norman Foster & Partners when it was introduced last fall. This spring Emeco expanded the 20-06 line to include a version with a leather-looking, vinyl-upholstered seat.

The semi-upholstering does wonders to warm up the design. This softer version of the stackable, 80% recycled aluminum chair costs about $300 plus $90 per upholstered seat. See more on new additions to the 20-06 collection on the Foster & Partners website.

WTH? Has this ever actually made it out into the stores? I've popped into DWR a few times, but they've been kind of mumbly and vague about it.

I'm going to have to have another look at the upholstered version; I'm not sure that I'm convinced that it's an improvement...
