Beanbag Coffee Table and Ottoman from West Elm

Yesterday's post of the Modern Family Home from The New York Times Magazine prompted reader katrinales to ask where one could find similar ottomans. We'd like to suggest West Elm's new Beanbag Coffee Table. Covered with a water-resistant poly fabric, it can be wiped down and is sturdy enough for use as an ottoman or extra seat...

With the addition of a tray, it's stable enough for drinks. The Beanbag coffee table measures 31" square and is 11" tall. It is available in white or metallic gold for $179 from West Elm. A soft-sided coffee table is an excellent idea for toddlers and it would make an excellent place to put on shoes in the bedroom.

Well, they're OK as far as they go...but Primary Poufs are still my big favorite, and they come in a rainbow of colors, not just white and gold.

I really like this idea, especially for my kid, but I don't know... at what price point? I think I could live with $79, but not $179.

I like the white one...but the gold one is too garish for my taste. Since it has a dual purpose i don't think that $179 is a ridiculous price for it...you pay almost that much for an Ikea coffee table or pouf.
