Crossback Chair: Victoria Hagan for Target

10-2-Hagan1.jpg

Check out this chair. In 2005, Elle Decor named Victoria Hagan "Furniture Designer of the Year" and recently Target worked with her to develop home accessories and accent furniture with a more accessible price point...

The Crossback's strict architecture and rich color command attention. It would be ideal for an entryway or at the end of a hall. An excellent accent chair for $119.99.

I love that target is working to bring accessible design to those of us that can't afford DWR prices, but unfortunately nothing in this collection really appealed to me.

love it.

it's like half director's chair/ half church pew.

I have to agree with Amy. Aside from the matching Darby side table to the chair shown, nothing really set my heart afire. But I too am glad to see designers working with outlets such as Target - cause many of us love furniture and design, but just ain't got the disposable income to entertain our flights of fancy....

I love the chair in black... it actually stopped me in my tracks as I was browsing the store.

I really liked the Victoria Hagen pillows when I came across them last week... that handsome chair looks uncomfortable, though. All seats in my apartment are required to be sittable-in.

looks really uncomfortable...

I felt it up at the store and it seemed...hollow? I don't mind a hollow mirror frame or some such, but I'd hate for a chair to suddenly splinter and collapse. The shelves are quite lovely and would make great entertainment/display furniture... but they have to be sturdy enough to bear the weight.

The chair in the Target store I saw was already sporting loose joints. I was surprised, however, that it was not as uncomfortable as it looked. I checked for joints to see if it could be tightened in the future, but all the joinery is hidden. Not great quality. Thh stingray stuff also looked like cheap vinyl, but the 'coin dot' mirror was really heavy and good looking.

I got felt up at a Target once, too.

This is one hot chair.

ps: I have always loved Ms. Hagan's work, and glad to see her partnering with Target.

P2,
You naughty boy.

Granted, difficult to resist Lady J's perfect setup.

Having looked at the Target catalog online, what's tempting me is the occasional tables... but I already have more occasional tables than occasions...

Hi, I tried this chair at target in Detroit. It was on sale for $51 but, alas, I live in Brooklyn, and the joints were a bit loose. It's hard to tell because anything on the sale floor is subject to wear and tear by ppl trying it out. I thought it was pretty comfortable but I was unsure how it would hold up with regular use...
