Shelving Chair by Jun Murakoshi

"Almost all stacking chairs will lose a reason for their existence if they are stacked; they will become something that we want to put away", says Jun Murakoshi, designer of the Shelving Chair you see pictured up top. His sentiment rings true...

We bought stacking dining chairs last year. We use two daily and the other four are stacked in our bedroom. But we're irritated by the stacked chairs' uselessness. We end up using them as catch-alls for clothing and books. The Shelving Chair is made for this second use, and the extra shelves will serve one well until the rare occassions when multiple guests come over for dinner. Via: Treehugger.

While I'm not sure how functional those would be as chairs, they are quite possibly the coolest looking things I've seen in a while! Love them.

Want to like - but they look uncomfortable as chairs and awkward as shelves.

And where would you put everything you had on the shelves?
