Soft Parcel Modular Furniture by TAF

Cutting edge designers from Swedish design and architecture firm TAF takes packaging to a whole new level with their Soft Parcel collection. These are individual blocks of foam that have been upholstered in fabric for a package-like appearance. Look twice, that’s actually fabric.

The modular blocks can then be arranged in various ways to make a sofa, chair, stool or any other combination that moves you. The pun stays — it's Monday.

Head over to TAF for more simple, thoughtful designs.

Just because something can be done doesn't mean it's a good idea to do it.

Designers these days seem so strenuously determined to be "clever" and "humorous" that they seem to have forgotten that pieces are supposed to be livable.

I get it. They look like boxes.

And how does that make a sofa or a chair better than the ones we already have?

Why would anyone want their living room to look like the basement mail room at their office? I guess if you had one or two "parcels" used as poufs it could be kinda quirky and fun...

yeah, it's cool that they could do this... but i just don't get it. seems more like art than furniture that anyone would ever actually use.

as an art installation it could be cool/ interesting commentary on the fleetingness of home for our society these days.

as furniture... hmmmm...

I agree with bepsf. These seem to have little relevance outside of a UPS lobby.

the way the fabric is folded makes them look more like brown paper wrapped boxes instead of regular packaging boxes.

The designer could have at least gone the extra mile to make the boxes look more like real packaging boxes instead of boxes wrapped in brown paper

ever heard of the photographer thomas demand? Completely normal every day places made entirely of paper and cardboard. I think he does "fake" furniture better than this guy.

This is what my new apartment looks like, and it's horrible! I can't wait to be unpacked and settled in already.

If "frustration" is the desired outcome of this design, they got it.

I think it's fun and witty design, vaguely Surrealistic. But would want to test the comfort level out in person before buying.
