Remember these? Where we went to college, these were all over the library. We called them womb chairs and they were good for one thing: sleeping.
With that in mind, we were so glad to find out where they came from - they came from the mind of the Finnish designer Aarnio Eero. His head must have been exploding in the mid 60's, because Eero designed all the super cool plastic seating that typified the era and makes you think of Clockwork Orange. He is still designing and some of his new stuff is just as good. You can find it all at www.eero-aarnio.com. MGR

Anybody know where I can find a less expensive version of one of these (or if Michigan State has them somewhere on campus)? I'd be happy with a used one or even a knockoff.
inmod.com Has great low cost reproductions
of ball chairs that come in great colors and speakers
i need cheaper ones than those, bub!
I love this chair and want one in my studio apartment but I don't know what sofa would go well with the chair or even has a place in my studio apartment.
Any ideas? any example of how it was used?
There are some pretty crazy sofas at funkysofa.com that might work with the ball chair...
