Look!: Swivel Chair Find on Ebay

08.06.swivel.jpg

We had our eyes on this vintage 1950's swivel slipper chair for sale on Ebay last week. We loved it because of its shape, still-nice upholstery, and its brass-capped wooden legs. We've had our feelers out for a good little swivel lounge chair for a while now, and have found mostly reproductions of Arne Jacobsen's Egg armchair. It's striking, but large and expensive.

This slipper chair, on the other hand, has a small footprint (about 26" dia.) and sits low, with a 28" high back. We think it's a cute and unassuming little seat but alas, we decided against it as its price quickly rose through bidding and our assuredness faltered. Ah, the one that got away...

this looks exactly like the bianco chair from room and board. I know because mrs bdb and I just bought one in brandy velour..

It's $599. And it swivels! Either R&B used this design, or someone antiqued an R&B chair.

Dimensions 26w 28d 27h
Inside Seating 26w 20d
Seat Height 18h

I have a vintage one as well. I was given the chair by an ex-coworker who was moving to Florida. I love things that are classically beautiful but also free. It is so comfortable and perfect for the (eventual) book corner in our living room. And our cat loves it too! Ours needs to be reupholstered pretty badly and I'm hoping to take a class and do it myself at some point.

I just bought a similar chair on ebay which arrived last week! Mine has a rounded back and metallic threads running through it. And it cost $140 which includes shipping (via Greyhound).

I love the style. I won't buy secondhand upholstered furniture anymore, though.

I'm planning to buy the Bianco chair as soon as we make room for it in our bedroom by selling our treadmill (great electric treadmill for sale, cheap!).

Hey, whoever you are out there! I had the same swivel chair in black naughyde and broke it. Then I recently scored another one for $70.00 on ebay.ca.

There is a swivel chair almost like this one on ebay.com right now. It is called "hollywood regency swivel chair" and it's not that expensive. I would buy it myself but it is too far away for me to be paying the shipping on it.

I am constantly looking for this chair style since my first one broke. I want to have a pair. The lovely pink ones in Apartment Therapy are stunning but I can't afford them right now.

The hollywood regency one on ebay.com seems to have an interesting somewhat asymmetrical back although it may just be the angle of the picture.

Good luck in your search. The beige one pictured is fabulous. I want it too! Oh, well...
