Marimekko Bottna on Anthropologie's Ditte Sofa

02.25.ditte.jpg

We're finding ourselves smitten with kelly green lately: maybe we're itching for springtime to spring forth. We love seeing the color with bold black and white patterns, like in the Marimekko upholstery on this Ditte Sofa at Anthropologie...

02.25.ditte2.jpg The sofa design was introduced last spring, but Marimekko's Bottna upholstery on it is new in 2008. It's printed in an abstract ivy vine pattern that's oversized and modern. It also covers two matching bolsters that make this sofa sing. Just look at the size of that print in the photo at left.

We loved the Ditte when it was introduced and have fallen even deeper after seeing it dressed up in Marimekko.

For a sort of Ikea-level price, this could be a cute piece but for $3.5k, no way. It's not a serious piece of furniture in that fabric, nor is it playful enough to really unique.
