Patricia Urquiola's Bèrgere & Légère Seating

Modern Comfort. Take a look at the new Bèrgere-Légère Seating from super-designer Patricia Urquiola. Manufactured by De Padova, the Bergère is a high-backed upholstered armchair on a metal base. The design incorporates both a "conversation position" and a "repose position". The Légère is a low-backed version and does not adjust to different settings...

We're fans of this modern intrepretation of very traditional furniture — and it looks comfy too! We especially love the red metal legs and the removable upholstery! Our initial research didn't find a U.S. distributor of De Padova — anyone know of one? Both styles are available from British retailer TwentyTwentyOne.

i am so in love with these in the plain fabric. so deeply in love. they look beautiful and welcoming and perfect for a sunny sunday morning with a book and steaming coffee. sigh, unrequited love of chairs hurts so bad.

Clean line modern. Comfy-looking but not bulky. Fabulous -- I agree.

I found an old reference to a De Padova store on 49 Mercer street, opened in 2003, but can't find anything current and I would spend good money on a comfy armchair that fits in my little apartment. Damn.
