
The descriptors modern and wicker aren't usually found describing the same thing. The Reo collection from Selamat is an exception. With graphic lines and clean-lined cushions, Reo was designed by Michael Steffenhagen and reminds us of Corbusier's classic LC3 or even the Bouroullec Brothers' Basket Sofa...

I'm not convinced. It still looks like something I might find on Blanche Devereaux's lanai - especially when paired with the matching ottoman.

a whole slew of bauhaus design combines the two.
or the best pieces by nanna ditzel (the egg chair and crib) among other scandinavian designers.
and then there are vladimir kagan's current pieces.
even ikea has had modern wicker pieces.
these chairs are nice, but modern and wicker is nothing new.
