In the continuing desire to give you all of the comfort factors on the vast couch selections at Room and Board, we give you our picks for the "These will do" section (also known as the "Feh" section and the "But the price was so good" section).
(Yesterday we covered Our Top Comfort Picks.)
The Carmichael- (shown above) A good one to sink into and hang out on. Not our first pick, but would be good for the person who spends a lot of time relaxing on their couch(Read:watches a lot of TV) (81"-$1,200)
The Jasper- Like many of the R&B couches, has a straight back which forces you to sit upright, but still quite nice, even if it isn't for total lounging. (71"-$1,250)
The Stewart- Odd to sit in, like it should be a fall into it and hang out couch, but it aint. Not bad, but not great. The price helps it.(73"-$950)
The York- You sink down a little too much on this one, but this might be a good choice for the couch potato...although not sure why they need so much consideration (73"-$1,150)
STAY TUNED FOR THE UGLY...COUCHES THAT JUST DON'T MAKE THE COMFY CUT. Alec H.
holy cow. where can I find a good couch with wooden legs that costs HALF of what you're showing there?
Ann - Estate sales? Or wait for one to fall off the back of a truck.
Room and Board has some nice stuff as the examples show. But just hope you like their stock fabric. Any custom fabric (from their collection, not COM) will likely set the delivery back months. My sister's couch took 5 months to get delivered, and a similar upholstered bed took almost 6! You can get furniture from Italy in less time.
ann-
check department store furniture sales. my sister got a small couch for $500 or so at macy's- not the most comfortable, but better than ikea.
what's with all the couch potato bashing? live and let live.
