Retro-Modern. Every November, Room & Board updates their offerings with new designs and upholstery options (in December, a number of discontinued styles go on sale!). This year they've added to their Small-Scale Sofas with the retro-styled Eugene...

Eugene is stocked in Dita Salt (shown on sofa) and we also like the combination of warm and cool color in Dita Sky (swatch pictured). Dita upholstery is a polyester micro-boucle. The sofa measures 71w 37d 31h and costs $1049.

UPDATE: Room & Board contacted us to let us know that the annual clearance sale will begin in stores on December 26.

Ohmigosh! I love this couch! It makes me so mad that I already have a couch (that is still in perfect condition). :-(

Bought the Burke from them a year ago. If I'd seen this, I might have bought it instead (great as the Burke is). Looks very comfortable and stylish.

This is a lot like the Berkeley from Rowe:

The Berkeley is bigger, I think, but also cheaper.

I bought this sofa back in January, so it's been in the store for awhile. Oddly enough I just was checking out the Room & Board site yesterday and noticed that the upholstery choices for this style are new. It's comfortable, although not quite as comfortable as my old 10yr old sofa which was deeper and plusher, but oh so ugly. This was definitely a style upgrade.

I tested this one out during a recent trip to NYC. Being on the short side, I find it's a challenge to find a really comfortable sofa, but this one was great. I've been coveting it ever since.

malinda,
i was in the city on thansgiving week and visited the r&b store, spoke with a design associate who explained that a lot of the fabric available in their 2007 catalog has been discontinued as the mill closed...about 30% of their fabric has been "DISCONTINUED."

The Eugene sofa was orginially (2007 catalog) in fabric DORADO MICRO-BOUCLE is now in DITA. I custom mine in DRIFT (color: oyster) which is closest to the feel of micro-boucle. Waiting to show up at my door after January.
