I don't know why but this reminds me of the idea of the "cone of silence" from the movie "Get Smart" for those who've seen the movie.

Really interesting shape, it reminds me of a quizzical nun! I like the whimsy of the shape and have to say I am eager to give it a try.

Hmm... I'm not sure. It looks like it has a really big brain.

I'd be curious to know what other task chairs the AT team has been obsessing about. I'm looking to buy a couple of nice looking task chairs for my home office. So far, I haven't really found any that I like that are affordable. Ideally, I'd like to get a couple of Eames office chairs in a nice color (I've seen them in kelly green which would be awesome). But, I can't really afford to drop $4000 for a couple of chairs right now. Any thoughts???

It looks a bit top heavy. I think that if I leaned back in this chair it would tip over.

it reminds me of a hall porter's chair. the "hood" was supposed to protect the hall porter from drafts, if I remember correctly

not wild about it as an office chair, but as an easy chair to curl up and read in....

I think it's an eyesore.

Also, very few people actually sit back in their chairs, especially when working at a desk.

You'd have to sit up very straight and keep your head back to take advantage of the "privacy" the chair creates. If you're using a computer this is not practical as most people hunch (albeit needlessly) over their screens.

It's kinda ugly. I still like it. The only thing is it would make it easy for people to sneak up on you.

The Ikea Patrik chair costs a helluva lot more than $40.
And it isn't nearly as hideous as this loser!

I dont think you'd have to sit totally upright. Part of the workplace hell is having your back to a cubicle entrance where people can peer over your shoulder. If nothing else, this chair creates another layer of protection...but yes, it might be nice to have side mirrors to see who's behind you.

We all have pricey Aeron chairs at the dotcom I work for, but I would trade it in a heartbeat for this ugly little number, just to have some privacy!

That's the silliest looking desk chair I've seen in some time.

I agree. This chair is ugly as can be, but I'd take it! Of course, my work would never go for a chair like this. It's too . . . individual.

Like others, I'd also be scared of people sneaking up on me. People love to do that around my workplace. Not a minute of silence.
