Artwork: "The Figure Five"
Purchased/Found: DIY
Price: Minimal expense

Pitch:
These are two 3'X4' paintings displayed in my bedroom in the Upper East Side. The artist is myself. Both pieces were created in the apartment; "The Figure Five" (right) was inspired by "The Figure Five in Gold" by Charles Demuth. The medium is acrylic on canvas.

Pitch: The Mixed media piece (left), also 3'X4' is titled "Luis, Private Luis", was inspired by a friend fighting in Iraq. Both paintings are not for sale and part of my own private collection. The room was inspired by "The Figure Five in Gold" and painted before the "The Figure Five" had even begun.

Red Walls! How FAAAUUUUWWW-VIIIIISSST of you. I wish I could see the rest of the room. I wonder how you resolved that intense color with the furniture and window treatments. I like the Number Five painting a lot. One question, though: What's it like living in a Matisse painting? (smile)

I'm not and artist and I don't know nuttin about art.

Having said this, I like your art. I love the "font" of the "5" painting on the right. I enjoyed the energy of the painting on the left. I went to your website and liked the photos on the Coors page.

Many mahalos for sharing-

I don't know, does riping off Demuth EXACTLY qualify as 'inspired by'...?

it isn't "inspired by" its a total rip-off.

As a well known and respected art critic, I can honestly say this piece made me question the existance of God and my own role in the universe. As if it reached down my throat, past my charred lungs, and squoze my heart until I had an embilism and forgot my name. Poo Poo on any of you who says this is not an original work. If you prick it, does it not bleed ...red paint? Think about that all you nay sayers, as you sip your mint julips in yoiur fancy midtown highrises, watching your PBS and pretending to understand everything Jane Austyn is saying. And yes, Im well aware of my spelling errors, thank you very much.

Love the red walls - my landlord would kill me if I did that - im jealous. The pieces are very good - would like to see more of your paintings (your website only has photography up at the moment). Can you post more photos?
