Artwork: “Curds Nourish” by The Clayton Brothers, 2003, mixed media on board, 24” x 24”
Pitch:
This piece is just one panel of “Six Foot Eleven” a 24” x 74 foot panel that was split up into 27 panels and sold to various individuals. I purchased it from La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles for $3,000 in 2003.

Pitch:
I’m a private art dealer, manager and consultant. In 2005 I relocated to NYC from LA. I spent 2005 living in midtown with a roommate and just moved to my own place on the lower east side.

I am still adjusting to the totally different lifestyle here but I love it. I particularly love my new neighborhood and apartment and the thing that really made my new place home was the day I hung up my artwork!

I’ve attached images of 2 of my favorite pieces, both of which happen to be paintings. But I have many other paintings and a few funky sculptures by artists from all over the country. I really believe in collecting pieces that you love and connect with and want to look at every day – not just works you think might increase in value - and I constantly encourage my clients and friends to adopt that philosophy. Some of my collection was purchased at galleries, some were purchased direct and some pieces were given to me as gifts. Values and prices range from a couple hundred dollars to a whole lot more.

Thanks for looking!

Best,

Alix S.

Ummm, is this art about the Kurdish people? Is this offensive?!? I'M NOT SURE!

I really love your art and your cute little apt, but the best thing is that chair! So cute! Where did you get it (the one in the corner)? Not so into the couch - like the color, like the shape, but it looks like one of those sofas that leaves buttprints after you stand up. Uh-oh!

Curds - like Little Miss Muffet...curds and whey (cottage cheese basically).

Not my taste in paintings, but I like the overall decor of the apartment!

I love that 1st photo. Those 40s hairstyles one on top of another is so cool! I love it.

I'm digging the Eric White thing too...it's like a bunch of old movie star headshots piled one on top of the other.

Barry McGee Barry McGee Barry McGee. I'm in love with his work. His most recent Deitch show had pictures like yours covering one wall and the price was many thousands for the whole thing. I'm very jealous of your two little heads.

I also like the Eric White piece, and all the works on his website. I'm happy to know of this work. Thanks!

That is an eye-catching first picture for sure . . .

I *really* like the guy in yellow jacket over the couch, and the last pic in the entry of two frames with faces - and I like your groupings alot. Thanks for sharing an impressive collection.

Now I'm dying to see your home decor goosed to show off the art better . .

Observer Dan,
google is your friend
here's your word of the day, in non-nursery usage
"I found Mable sitting, disheartened, on a tuffet of dirty clothes, trying to decide whether to wash them, yet again, or just leave town."

Nice collection. I'm a huge fan of both The Clayton Brothers and Barry McGee. the interior design itself needs work, but the quality of the artwork is top notch.

Simplicity is the essence of good taste. Just need to pick up a vintage TV to replace the modern one.
