This is a group of panels called "Guardian", along with a metal bird from Mohr-McPherson, a Boston import store, a carved wooden heron from a birding supply shop in St. Johns, Newfoundland, together with what appears, disturbingly, to be the beginning of a collection of cat heads. The small painting to the right is called "Pleased".

HI, I'm sending many photos, because I Just Can't Decide. Although I don't presently have gallery representation I'm hoping to get a website together to sell my work within the next six months, and would love to get some reaction from AT readers.

Artwork: Time to Choose by David Shrigley
Purchased/Found: www.picturesonwalls.com
Price: $150
The first is a pretty poor shot of a piece called, ironically enough, Time to Choose. I have it pinned up in my kitchen and I love, love, love it. Next to it is a collage I made to cover the circuit-breaker box. I'm expecting a bonus any second now, and framing TTC is on my list of thngs to spend it on.

I like the cat heads. They're definitely better than that knife holder.
Joan -- LOL!
I like this a lot -- gave it an awesome rating because of the eclectic mix of things and the artwork. I really like the piece over the bookcase, both the art and the placement. It looks both comfy and design-y (if that's a word) to me.
Joan - I like it all.
Thanks for the link to picturesonwalls.com. I especially loved their FAQ page. hilarious. Those brits.
whoops - not joan - martha
sorry.
I have a splitting headache today.
Martha, this is what I love to see. It has so much energy and vitality. I'd like to live with those things myself.
Martha, I love "The French Cat" panel. Although not a lover of the feline myself, I can appreciate the humor in the piece. "The birds" is also quite appealing, in fact all of your original art is terrific. Why not get rid of the things you have purchased and hang all of the "cheapstuff"....your own!
You should have gallery representation.
i love it. it reminds me of my apartment. art all over the place. i think your art is fab. keep us posted for your website.
I like that there's a definate sensibility here. The paintings, the sculptures, even the objects are all dealing with iconography. I really like how in the first photo, the smiling cat sculpture, the heron and the clock are all echoed in the painting above it. Pretty sweet.
That painting is a little too close to the corner for me, though. I'd move it over about an inch and a half.
Is that French cat smoking?
Love all the art and the placement. All these items are so buzzy, amusing, light, entertaining. I would walk around your place looking at everything and asking questions. If I was sitting around, different things would catch my eye and lift up my spirits.
Thank you all for your kind comments.
Pixie: I have yet to get to France, but have been warned that everyone there smokes all the time. That's how I determined the cat's nationality.
Cindy: Ha! I hadn't thought about the objects' relationship to the painting. Also, it's a bit close to the corner, but it's a short wall.
I'm afraid that comment makes me sound like a dope. but really, I move the toys around from time to time, and leave them where they feel right.
