Great look! But one question: Do you ever serve red wine to your guests?

Is it me, or does that room look like a hotel? A nice hotel though.

Not my style - the furniture or the art, but very I like the cleanness of the lines. I like the color of the wall. It complements the painting really well.

Very nice space, guys! If you're taking opinions though, maybe you could consider changing the window treatments - I think you need graphics in the room (but nothing that will compete with the painting). Try hancockfabrics.com and click on decorators fabrics, then click on LAURIE SMITH. Trust me, I had reservations about the line and the store itself, but I purchased some and wow - impressive. Great quality and very rich hues for budget shoppers. I would suggest the "Mosaic Decorator Fabric In Chocolate" (on sale this week for only $12.73 per yard) or the "Streaks Decorator Fabric In Chocolate" for $12.35 per yard also on sale this week.

I'm suggesting the above two fabrics since it appears as though you don't want to add any color to the room - which is fine - it's lovely as is. If you did want to add color - try a splash of Lime or Tiffany Blue.

Nice space!

Not bad, I voted "good", but the window treatment (in my opinion!) is a little too predictable and, I hate to say it, but will, old ladyish.

Sorry!

What? No text, no story, no "I bought this painting because.."?

As a single statement it's nice. I like the contrasting piping on the chairs--its almost as if the chairs have been drawn. Oh, and I love the drapes, dahling. Fabulous!

very crisp in a late 1940's way. just wondering about the furniture placement and the lamps at the same height, it seems too tight a grouping.

Love the apartment, including the window treatments. I'm shy about expressing my feelings about the painting, as beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. Though it's not my cup of tea, if you like it, that's enough reason to have it.

Re window treatments: I like them so much because the room is so un-busy and crisp. You can't beat a restful quality with a stick.

More on the curtains. As you have the brown wall, the white curtains are perfect.

I really like this room...I'd never be able to keep it clean and neat, but then again, that's why my apartment isn't submitted to contests!!! I don't mind the white draperies...sure, you could do something different, but I kind of like it simple.

Hi Cheryl -- table is from Ethan Allen.

BTW guys, drapes are blue, not white.

Thanks to everyone who wrote.

Love the clean lines and quiet color pallet, but the flower arrangement is too tall for a conversation area. The artwork is masterful and suits the room in so many ways, but I feel so much anguish flowing from the woman that I wouldn't want her in my living room.

I like the living room -- it's very clean and crisp. Plus, it's so nicely designed. For my taste, however, it seems a little too matched to the painting, and therefore not very welcoming. I would be tempted to put down a richly-colored carpet, throw around some interesting knickknacks and add a couple large plants to warm it up. On the other hand, that's probably not your aesthetic! And you probably don't fight with clutter (and lose) the way we do...

Late to the party here, but love the look.

I know in some books, a crime to "match art to the sofa" (not in mine, btw, if both are gorgeous, as is the case here...).

Love the gusty, organic, muscular style of the painting (and its scale) as a juxtaposition to the restrained clean lines of the furniture.

Also love the (brilliant) choice of the mask on the side table... a great game of "compare and contrast" to the painting could be had...

Nice. I'd happily cocktail there.

Very presidential. Where is the tape recorder? The nude shakes it up a little...that must be how they get people comfortable enough to talk!
