This is what my schizo NYC apartment is in the process of looking like: a white on white bedroom that will hopefully help me sleep some day and a living room that is an explosion of color. However, in the living room the colorful painting was painted over to be the white on white that is now my bedhead. I really hope the photos aren't too bad, I am just entering on a ego-driven whim because it's my birthday today!
I really, really like your back-lit headboard.
That is a hoot! COLOR... and escape from color. It's like having two apartments!
I see you also found the retailer who lets you customize the shade colors on the Medusa. Mine is yellow, green, and white.

And you know, the more I think about it, the more suspect I am of this entry's (supposed) late entry!
As everyone (hopefully) noticed, there has always been an option to vote "Not my cup of tea"(or something very close to it), however, in this instance due to the late hour, and what the day (supposedly) represents only "Happy Birthday" was offered in its place!
Your place looks great Rosario. I like the idea of creating two totally different spaces within one apartment.
From reading the comments it seems like someone is much to into winning this contest. Talk about (obviously) seeking attention.

Great job, Rosario... I'm especially inspired by your living room chairs in different colors. I've been considering doing the same with my plain white (boring!) wood chairs: seeing yours confirms that I'm on was on the right track. What kind of paint did you use? Semi-gloss? Thanks.

It's me, the ego-driven-one-year-older-been there-done that-headboard perpetrator. Sorry Siouxe, it was not my intention to blatantly ignore the rules that EVERYBODY else has to comply with. It was my birthday, I was basking in all the attention I could get and obviously looking for more and I thought it would be fun to send a couple of pictures. The fact that the "not my cup of tea" option was not given means to me that my entry is "hors concours" and only published as a nice gesture - which, by the way, I very much appreciate. Thanks guys! As for the headboard, it's not lit from behind but from underneath, with a thin fluorescent lamp (is that even more passé????). I don't remember which kind of paint I used for the chairs, but I still have the cans at home, so I will check tonight and report back.
I hope you're having a fun bash with buddies for BD. Thanks for showing your very fun apt.
I love how this whole place is almost an art piece in itself.

Sorry to you all for my bad english but I'm italian, although I work in TOROC (Torino Winter Olympic Games). It's not because Rosario is my oldest friend but, sincerely, her apartment is simply very modern and neverthless very cosy.

Phyllis - The chairs are painted with Disney (!) semi-gloss enamels.
Patrick (the other one) - Every time I read your "half colorful/half monochromatic self!!!" I burst out laughing.
