Bellantonio Storage Tube by Luca Villa

Tubular storage fits in anywhere. The Bellantonio Storage Tube designed by Luca Villa is tube-shaped. The circular footprint means maximized storage and the rotating sections pivot into a streamlined cylinder.

We think this would work wonderfully in a small bathroom short on storage. Could also work as a very understated bedside table. The diameter of the tube is only 14" and it stands about 30" tall. Made of curved birch, which is beautiful left natural or is easily painted.

The tube is sold by UK company Where Did You Buy That . It's out of stock until March and they do ship to the US.

This looks like a bamboo steamer. Cool idea.

But if you happen to be in London anyway ..... it might be worth hunting down as it would probably fit in your suitcase.
Lovely.

This would be fantastic for my bathroom, but Julianna's calculation is wrong -- more like $550 US BEFORE shipping -- yikes!

Perhaps I could craft one from cheap bamboo steamers purchased in Chinatown . . .

I said out loud "This is exactly what I need!" Then I saw the price. Ouch. Maybe I could find a bunch of cylindrical wooden salad bowls?

Attractive, but how does the cylindrical shape maximize storage? A square shape with the same radius would more storage space. (Not to geek out too much here, but pi*rsquared is ALWAYS going to be less than (2r)squared-- about 25% less).

I bought two of them here in Rome a few years back and wood-stained them, green and yellow respectively, for our two new bathrooms. They needed protection from the humid environment of the bathroom and they look great in situ. They will not fit in a suitcase, even unstacked, however, but they do provide a fair amount of storage space. Yeah, they were expensive (800 euro the pair), but hard to find a substitute and they were perfectly suited to the rounded lines of the bathroom fixtures. It was a splurge.

Jecca you beat me to it - I was just going to reply on that - a square always utlises space better than a circle - a circle wastes the corners!!

I used to sell these on wheredidyoubuythat.com when I owned it and they are so good I have 2 myself. They hold masses of items and all easy to view. The bonus is that everything is hidden when not in use.

I like them...they will look good in my pint size Manhattan bathroom, but the price.....Yikes!

Someone knock this off so I can actually afford it, please.
