Just a correction here. This shelf is architectonic, but not tectonic, I'm afriad. There's a huge difference. Architectonics is a reference to structure and craft and techne. Tectonics, on the other land, is a much more complicated affair. It refers to the haptic and is inherently experiential. It is architecture's ability to create shadows within spaces...a dialogue of light and dark.

With the exception of the addition of the cross braces, it seems remarkably like the ikea Lerberg shelving unit, only 10 times more expensive.
