Remember the Skew Bookcase from Swedish designers Smansk? More recently, Smansk created a custom bookcase design for Swedish travel magazine Vagabond's new bookstore in Stockholm. The design is a three-dimensional interpretation of Stockholm's street grid...

From Smansk Design Studio: The idea was to bring the outside world into the shop. A map of the local area provided the basis for the floor pattern, which continues up the walls in the form of a shelving system able to accommodate guides to all the world’s travel destinations. Via: dezeen.

Clever - but not for me.

Very clever. The yellow is great as are the bookshelves themselves, but the rest of the room really isn't doing it for me...

What a WONDERFUL idea for a school library!! It simply invites, woos a student to pick out a book and go to a bench to read. As a teacher, anything that will get any child at ANY age to read is a good thing and worth serious consideration.
