Renters' Option. We can't stop thinking about Keith Botsford's home with "Diagrid" shelves and framework that appeared in today's House & Home Roundup. We had a revelation that the structure is remarkably similar to Peter Marigold's Make/Shift nomadic shelves...
Perhaps Make/Shift is the answer for renters who love the look.
There are many images of Make/Shift in use on the Movisi site where individual units are available for sale for 79 Euros each.

Pretty but AWFUL for damaging books.

Those shelves waste a lot of space.

blech. those plastic shelves are hideous and don't even come close to the awesomeness of the wooden ones on the left. and why are you calling them "diagrid" - is that some kind of technical term for the wall supports? it sounds ridiculous.

What snot said. How at all are the Diagrid shelves like the Make/Shifts? Well, I can't see it, anyway. Love the Diagrid (especially in the pictured space), loath the Make/shift for any space. Sorry. . . .

Thanks to Apartment Therapy for spotting that one.... It's been bugging me for a while....
This alternate version (in wood) might shed even more light:

I first showed these in my last year at college - quite a while back.

True, them plastic ones (EPP) do take up a lot of space (that's the minimum thickness for that material in that form - sorry), and I must say that I also prefer my wood versions (have a look a the other types Snot, if you like that other dude's I reckon I could win you back over) - however the wood ones take me a minimum of 2.5 hours to make, the plastic EPP ones pop out one every 90 seconds - oh and they weigh relatively nothing.
Horses for courses.
Thanks again Apartment Therapy. Great site. Keep in touch.
Peter.
