Golden Cage Bookcase from Ceccotti

As we notice more and more wire frame furniture entering the marketplace (look at Tom Dixon especially), this Golden Cage Bookcase by Italian company
Ceccotti is one of our favorite examples. Sculptural and versatile, the hand-brushed brass rod frame was designed by Vincenzo de Cotiis and looks great with or without a collection of books...

We're certain it is very expensive. But we're inspired!

Not for me. Looks like a roll of gold plated fencing. It might be nice to hold up a tomato plant : )

As a librarian and bibliophile, I am aghast! Good for display of glassware or other objects maybe, but this thing would destroy books. Horrible for the use. Not for someone who cares about their library.

Yeah, my first thought was "tomato cage." The view from above is interesting, but the second image with the books just looks sloppy. Poor books!

I think a key factor in bookcase design is that they should never look worse with books on them.
