Modern Design & Traditional Craft: Commode by Marek Gut

I fell instantly in love with this cute little cabinet from Polish designer Marek Gut — it combines a modern aesthetic with traditional handmade woodcraft. The bulky faceted cabinet hides a myriad of unique compartments and cubbies and sits surprisingly gracefully on thin wire legs...

The hint of yellow against the walnut veneer is just a tease — the entire interior is finished in a yellow varnish.

Wow, that's the coolest thing I've seen all day! I love the wood with the yellow interior, and the way everything just opens up is incredible!

:-D it looks like half a coffin, on stilts :-P

i think the legs are looking too unsubstantial, compared to the body, sorry.

It looks like some sort of exercise on building something in CAD.

What a great piece. The only thing i would change would be to take off the shelves on the side door and just leave the ones on the inside. That way you could have larger pieces on the inside shelves.

The commode is nifty indeed, but I'm in love with that vintage sleek brass door hardware...

Yeah, lovely, but no cost, availability date, nada. That is what frustrates me so much about many things found on notcot.
