Hello AT,
I'm looking for a good media console for my new plasma, but cant seem to find anything that looks good for under $700.
I want something very simple and minimal looking, but can conceal all my electronics out of sight. Thanks! Thomas

Check out www.loadbearing.com - very affordable. We've had one for about 6 months now and love it!

hey thomas - i think a lot depends on how many electronics you have and whether they would all fit in the console, but i've seen a few at IKEA that are pretty simple and minimal looking, like this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90086805
although, when buying mine last fall (to go with my 32" flat panel tv), i realized that hiding away all the electronics might not be ideal. i didn't want to have to flip open a door every time i needed to access the cable box or dvd player with my remote while watching tv. i ended up going with this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40105707
good luck!

kat98, I just looked at Loadbearing. How do the doors open - flip up? It's hard to tell. Can you have shelves put inside individual modules? Thanks for the link, these look cool.

A few affordable options from EQ3. The Bossa Plasma Bench seems like a good one. I've seen it in person; and the quality seems good enough for the price.
Sale-priced option: $200

They slide. if you look at the gallery you can see several pieces with the doors partway open. This one: http://loadbearing.com/gallery/mshelving/?articleTypeId=3&articleId=70 shows open doors and an interior shelf.

I have the FRIEL from Ikea and couldn't be happier. It is large enough to fit all of my electronics and looks great.
