Top 10: Metal Locker Sources

Having worked with a number of clients who have active children and have been in need of a sturdy hallway solution, lockers are a fun solution for kids. For those of us with no kids and no worries, lockers can simply be a refreshing alternative to wood and chipboard laminate.

Particularly nice in country houses, the sturdiness of metal also fits in with the current rage for mid-century modern.

How about http://www.lockers.com + a custom finish at an auto painting place like MAACO?

Usually not one to rain on your parade, but the lock er look reminds me of my first job -- taking tickets and cleaning filters at the town pool. Some times little critters would get stuck in those filters or kids would get sick . . . not a great minimum wage opportunity. Now they just remind me of the overpriced gym scene look.

Could be cool for some people, but not for me.

The world's largest selection of lockers (and a big assortment of metal cabinets in colors) at good prices can be seen on anytimeproducts.com.

Gym lockers bring two distinct scenarios to mind for me: the terror and angst of high school P.E.. And, a bit later in life, the backdrop for gay porn.

So, needless to say, I could go either way.

So to speak. ;)

Just checked out some of the furniture in that sundance catelogue. Am I the only one who thinks it is outrageously overpriced?

I've been wanting basket lockers for my bedroom, but these prices totally bum me out. Fun to look at though!

The Twenty Gauge Lockers are all vintage, we simply offer such customization, it seems unbelieveable that we can do it with vintage pieces... We have been the pioneer of the vintage steel furniture and have incomparable sources and ressources.

Thank you for your including us nevertheless!

everytime I see lockers as furniture I wonder if I'll start liking them. Not yet...

I'm exactly the same, pixi. It just doesn't do anything for me, and it always seems to look cheap.

For storage... yay! for furniture... I'm on the fence.

However, when we remodled our laundryroom in our HOA Building... someone suggested lockers to store our individual laundry supplies.
Brilliant! (click my name for link)

We found ours on Craigslist Denver... from a company remodeling their breakroom I guess. Four columns for $250 if I recall.... and I spent a lot of time with Goo Gone removing sticker residue.

Why not just order the lockers from a place that schools actually would??

Click my name for a site that has lots of colours and configurations. Prices are also lower than some of the other sites maxwell listed.

In my experience, the IKEA PS cabinet is the only one I've seen used in a wide range of different decor schemes, I think because it's more of a subtle take on the locker trend.

While this look doesn't bother me, overall it seems to appeal most to rather immature single straight guys. I've actually referred a few different co-workers (some of whom would only discuss home design with me in hushed tones for fear of seeming too "girly") to the PB teen catalog. Gotta love the culture of ad agencies!
