Signal-Box House by Melling Morse Architects

When we posted on living in a converted train station a few days ago, Apartment Therapy reader JoJenks recommended we check out Melling Morse Architects' project called Signal-Box...

It's not exactly a train station, but it's a train-transport-inspired design near the tracks. There's an exterior visual that indicates when a train is approaching. And the kitchen - though not necessarily train-related - looks simply amazing. We love the jalousie windows and block wall material that carries right through from the exterior.

I love the cinderblock and the kitchen...
...but the exterior is driving me crazy with the way it's built to appear as if the entire upper floor is sloped.

I've never seen cinderblock look so good. It's always given me bad dorm room memories.
