Bocci 22: The Outlet for Minimalists
From Unplggd: Our site that untangles your wires

The devil is in the details, and the lowly wall outlet is a detail that doesn't tend to get much thought. Bocci is looking to change that with the recently introduced 22 at ICFF. Not an easy install, and even worse if you need to replace the outlet down the road, but one thing is for sure, this looks slick as hell. Read more about it here.

The electrical outlet just looks strange. And the fact that it's both not easy to install and difficult to replace/repair down the road is good reason not to go with it.

Oh, man - I just had the covers off at least six outlets and light switches last week, looking for a short, so I might be particularly sensitive right now - but that looks like a boondoggle.

These make me shudder. I hate fixing drywall.

If you want both your drywall contractor and electrician to go into a hemmorage, double your building/installation costs and set yourself up for misery and unhappiness because these "didn't get installed correctly" - Go ahead and specify these...

Actually if you visit the web site they have instructions and animation that shows how they work and how you can replace them and access the wires. Although I don't think I would specify these any time soon, if I had a client that wanted super slick and unique I wouldn't hesitate to do this as long as they understood the cost to replace etc if needed. Although if you need to replace them it doesn't seem like it would be that bad.

It's actually a pretty simple install. Take a look at this video.
