Those are some sexy lamps.
Those lamps are sexy! I love them, they are very, very unique and daring.
Uh, this is what I thought of when I saw the lamps:

The turbine or "whirly bird" ventilation item.
Visit the home improvement or roofing store, get just the rounded parts, a little spray paint, stack a couple sizes, add in a light kit or inexpensive table lamp sans shade, and VOILA!
If anyone is interested in those kiddie tables, chairs and benches, I have that set. The table, two chairs and the bench.
Pros: They look great, the plywood makes them stiff and strong and the paint finish as well as the finish on the exposed wood is very good and hard wearing.
Cons: Although the way the pieces link together is very clever, the actual hardware (the Cam bolts of the kind that you get with Ikea stuff) is made of very soft metal and you can easily chew up the cross head. The cross head is also very big so you need a big phillips head to tighten them properly without chewing them up.
The parts where the leg sections poke up through the surfaces trap a lot of gunk (ply doh, food, bits of crayon etc.) and are very hard to clean unless you want to spend lots of time with a tooth pick or knife or something. Not ideal for a kid's table but you can't beat the look or the sturdiness.
Jamie Pup:
If you aren't planning on disassembling them again, you could probably use a bit of sealant when inserting the legs and then fill the top area with wood fill or clear poly.
