Candelas suck. The lamps burn out and the base burns out. The company knows about this. They'll replace your base once, but mine burned out again and I had to pay for it, and even after I got it two of the lamps won't work. Although they look cool, they are not a good product.

I retail the product, so maybe my perspective is skewed. I've always found Vessel to be upstanding and easy to work with. They've changed their products for 2006 in response to customer feedback about the hassle of batteries burning out eventually. The light bulbs and batteries are easily replacable...you can do it yourself cheaply. I've had mine for a couple years and they still work fine, no replacement needed yet. I dropped one in the store once and it always had problems but they replaced it. I've never had anyone return the product to me or complain about problems. I don't have any other association with them other than as a retailer and consumer.
