I practically grew up in a Baby Björn :)

A lot of people, including myself bought the Baby Björn and had to give it away after a couple of uses. Even with the new lumbar support it can be quite painful for a lot people's backs. The Portamee http://www.portamee.com/ is the creme de la creme at the moment. The lumbar support is suppose to be amazing. But, you'll have to wait until your baby is 5 months to use it.

I agree with elizabeth (9/27/06). The Baby Bjorn is good for only a short while.... until your baby is about 4 to 5 month. After that is just isn't comfortable.
I like the Portamee because it offers real lumbar support and those much needed pockets.
Besides, carring my daughter on my hip is much easier on my body.
