Lela Stacking Chairs: "These are so well rounded and comfy looking, and although they are intended for use in 'public areas,' we'd happily have one in our own place."

Look! More Tree Stump Seating: "Done as part of an elective at the UIC School of Architecture, this intervention sought to enliven the existing student mailbox area..."
Ok, am I like the last person on earth who likes having a box spring?
Tree stump seating. cute? yes, comfortable? I doubt it.
Fuddy, I think platform beds are uncomfortable too. I get the same look by putting the box springs and mattress directly on the floor, using a tailored bedspread, and fixing the headboard to the wall.
This way I get complete comfort and don't keep hitting my shin on the platform. To say nothing about the cost savings.
This look is exactly what I want with my Asian theme bedroom.
I think platform beds are beautiful, but in my opinion, the Japanese style's are much more appealing to the eye. As for the tree stump...I'm not so sure I like it. I'm all about having an earthy feel to the room, but this is a smidge too realistic for me.
That student area is dead boring - the dead tree stump isn't doing much in the way of enlivening the exisiting space.
I just saw the space as it was in the "before" state on the Chicago part of the site and I'd like to retract my above comment. I had thought that someone just dragged a piece of wood into an existing space, but it was a total demo.
