Ha ha...great question! For us the "Karate chop" is to offensive for our classic furniture. We fluff 2 times in the air and then "poke" using the index finger.

I think you gotta go with a pillow-by-pillow basis. Going with the zebra-striped example above, it mars the snazzy pattern.

a nice center punch sometimes works, though the only thing I've ever "karate chopped" was wood.

whatever happened to old-fashioned fluffing?

It looks like a faux fur fortune cookie.

I definitely fluff. This has the same odd look to me as squared-off fingernails still do, even after 20 years.

I give my pillows a straight 'HYASHI!' to the center. This is then followed by my dog walking over and sticking his bum against it. The perfect fluff followed by doggie fluff.

one wonders if thomas's dog isn't committing an act of aesthetic criticism....

I seem to use my time for better things. For example, using the pillows to rest against.

I karate chop my larger pillows, like the European Shams on my bed. It adds a little more style to the room.
