Look! : "Spilled Paint": Brilliant controlled chaos. This is not a product. This has really been done to the floor.

I'm a total book lover. In the house I grew up in we had a spare bedroom with floor to ceiling bookcases on every wall full of books and smaller bookcases in the center of the room making a reading table. And now as a phd student I have not only bookcases in every room stuffed with books, but also stacks of books in every corner. Friends have joked that I need that library kit, because it really burns my muffin when I loan a book and years go by without so much as a "I've been meaning to get that book back to you." But seriously, even I'm not so OCD to need that crap.

I wouldn't go pasting paper in my books either
although I was just admiring a one line emboss
(name only, no seal) on a used book

why not keep a list on a little notebook, Szig?

That paint-on-the-floor raises my blood pressure, in a bad way. Every time I saw it, I think I would have a heart attack. It's a cool idea, esp. for kids' playspaces, but...

I also wince during movies when the "action" scenes always involve throwing the bad guy into the glass-fronted cabinet, or shooting up the lovely restaurant/museum/mansion with a machine gun, so maybe the paint on floor look just falls into that category.

I really like the spilled paint. I think I might try something like that in my studio space, which needs something creative. It's currently grey.

Hello,
Sorry to have to say this, but the bedroom set is not a Norman Bel Geddes design. This Simmons furniture is often confused with the lines he DID do for them.

Szig, would you comission an artist to do an exlibris for your library?
Same principle, really.

Ron, I'm not disagreeing with you - I believed the seller, who says it's Bel Geddes and includes a good deal of biographical information about him in the listing - but I'm wondering how to distinguish between Simmons and Bel Geddes for Simmons. Please let us know how to tell them apart.

Thanks.
